Alliance Lauds Dr. Jeffrey Bogart for outstanding committee leadershiP
Jeffrey Bogart, MD
Outgoing Chair, Alliance Radiation Oncology Committee
Dr. Jeffrey Bogart is a distinguished radiation oncologist and leader in clinical research, currently serving as Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at SUNY Upstate Medical University. He has served as Chair of the Alliance Radiation Oncology Committee since 2011 and has recently stepped down after more than a decade of leadership. Daniel Trifiletti, MD (Mayo Clinic in Florida) and Joseph Salama, MD (Duke University Medical Center) have succeeded Dr. Bogart as committee co-chairs.
During his tenure, the committee conducted 17 clinical trials resulting in 48 publications covering a wide range of topics, including optimizing radiation dose and fractionation, combining radiation with systemic therapies to achieve organ preservation, and improving outcomes for patients with metastatic disease. Dr. Bogart has been deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of radiation oncology investigators, providing opportunities for junior colleagues to lead secondary analyses of completed trials and supporting the development of new studies.
Known for his dedication to scientific excellence and collaborative leadership, Dr. Bogart’s work has advanced clinical trial methodology in radiation oncology while cultivating a collaborative research environment that strengthens the field and improves patient care.
