Nominate an Alliance “Unsung Hero” by Aug. 28 for the Schilsky Achievement Award

Nominations are due Friday, August 28 for the 2026 Richard L. Schilsky CALGB Achievement Award. This is your chance to identify and honor the “unsung heroes” of the Alliance.

The Richard L. Schilsky Cancer and Leukemia Group B Achievement Award acknowledges the significant contributions of an individual to cooperative group research. As an organization, Alliance loves to identify and honor the legacies of talented leaders who have been responsible for its success. This award honors individuals who have shaped Alliance into a stronger organization, either through past leadership or other contributions.

Past recipients include:

Richard M. Stone, MD - Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (2025)
Richard Goldberg, MD - West Virginia University Cancer Institute (2024)
Jeffrey Crawford, MD - Duke Cancer Institute (2023)
M. Margaret (Peggy) Kemeny, MD - Queens Hospital Center (2021)

The award is made possible through generous donations from Alliance members and industry supporters.

All Alliance members are welcome to submit nominations for this award. As this award is intended to honor individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes, we ask you to refrain from nominating colleagues in current major leadership roles, such as disease or modality committee chairs or program directors.

Nominations for this year's award should be submitted by August 28, 2026. Nominations should include a brief letter about the nominee and can be sent to Awards@AllianceNCTN.org
