Submit Your Site Photos to Help the Alliance Illustrate Clinical Trials

The Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology needs your help as it prepares to launch a fresh visual identity across its digital platforms. To capture the heart of cancer research and care, we are asking our member institutions to share original, high-quality photographs that showcase the reality of daily operations at leading cancer centers.

Stock photography usually fails to capture the authentic, high-stakes environment of clinical trials and oncology care. By sourcing images directly from the front lines, the Alliance aims to build a visual library that reflects the genuine dedication, scope, and clinical excellence of its member sites. These submitted photographs will play a vital role in humanizing cancer research on the Alliance website and within upcoming patient education materials.

Rather than static, staged portraits, the Alliance is specifically seeking dynamic, action-oriented pictures that depict the work happening across oncology departments every day. The goal is to visually tell the story of a patient’s journey and the collaborative scientific effort behind it. Key areas of interest for photo submissions include:

  • Clinical care in action: Authentic depictions of patient consultations, blood draws, and the administration of therapies.
  • Advanced diagnostics: High-resolution shots of imaging procedures (such as CT, MRI, or PET scans) and the intricate processes of lab testing.
  • Surgical excellence: Professional captures of surgical teams working within modern operating rooms.
  • Collaborative science: Behind-the-scenes imagery of multidisciplinary tumor boards where specialists convene to review complex cases, as well as laboratory environments highlighting active research.

For patients navigating the complex world of cancer care, seeing real faces, care settings and laboratories can help reduce anxiety by offering a better idea of what they personally can expect when enrolling in a study. For member institutions, contributing these assets offers a premier opportunity to highlight your facilities and staff on a national stage.

If you are interested in contributing to this visual project, please review your existing media archives or coordinate with your institution’s public relations and marketing teams to capture new imagery. All submissions must comply with institutional policies and HIPAA regulations, ensuring that any patients or staff members pictured have signed the appropriate media release forms.

By contributing your site’s photography, you are helping the Alliance illustrate the true face of cancer research—one of hope, innovation, and unwavering care. Please submit your photos to Communications@AllianceNCTN.org by September 10. If you have questions about submission guidelines, image resolution requirements, and how to upload your files, please e-mail Katherine Egan Bennett or Jamilah Owens, Alliance Communications Managers.

We look forward to receiving your submissions!
