AFT PATINA trial supports FDA approval
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved palbociclib in combination with trastuzumab, with or without pertuzumab, and endocrine therapy for patients with hormone receptor-positive, HER2-positive, locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer, reported dozens of news outlets, including News Medical, Business News, Bright Surf, Dana-Farber News, FemTech Insider, Pulse Expert Tech, Let Life Happen, and Newswise. Alliance ATOMIC trial findings support FDA application
The FDA has accepted for review Genentech’s supplemental Biologic License Application for atezolizumab, an immunotherapy, for the treatment of patients with stage III colon cancer with deficient DNA mismatch repair. The application is supported by findings from the Phase III ATOMIC trial (Alliance A021502), which were published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Alliance QUANTUM trial to study bispecific immunotherapy for rare leukemia
The Alliance has activated The QUANTUM Trial (Alliance A062401), a clinical study designed testing a novel immune-targeting approach for patients newly diagnosed with primary plasma cell leukemia. Led by Douglas Sborov, MD, MS, Professor of Medicine at the University of Utah’s Huntsman Cancer Institute, the trial is evaluating whether teclistamab, a novel bispecific antibody, can improve outcomes when used as consolidation therapy after stem cell transplantation compared with standard post-transplant treatments, reported News Medical, Science Magazine, Bioengineer, and the UK’s Head Topics.
