Spotlight on Alliance Committees
Alliance seeks new Chair of the Alliance Clinical Research Professionals Committee
The Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology has announced the launch of a formal search committee for the next Chair of the Alliance Clinical Research Professionals (CRP) Committee. The search committee will be led by Olwen Hahn, MD, Director and Principal Investigator of the Alliance Central Protocol Operations Program.
The Alliance CRP Committee develops educational programs, provides quality control services, and serves as a scientific resource for other Alliance Committees. The committee’s focus is to improve operational efficiency and productivity for CRPs in the conduct of Alliance-led clinical trials across the network. The committee chair works collaboratively with the protocol operations and the Alliance Statistics and Data Management Center to produce high-quality, clearly written protocols, case report forms, correlative science manuals, and other protocol supplemental material to promote quality protocol execution at the site level; along with committee members, they are also expected to identify and address changes impacting site implementation of protocols for compliance.
The committee chair also collaborates with study teams on study amendments and memorandums to ensure complex protocol changes are understood and will be implemented accurately at sites. The committee chair also supports the development of collaborations with other NCI-funded clinical trial groups; the committee is responsible for bringing NCI’s National Clinical Trials Network oncology research education and training to sites and developing the necessary educational content for each of the Alliance biannual Group Meetings. It is expected that the committee chair and their institution will actively open new Alliance trials and work to enroll patients.
Jennifer Dill, CCRP, has served as Chair of this important committee for Alliance for the past 11 years. In this role, she has guided initiatives aimed at strengthening clinical research professionals, expanding professional development opportunities, and enhancing trial execution across the Alliance network. Under her leadership, the committee has advanced training strategies, fostered collaboration among sites, and developed resources that support clinical research professionals at all career stages.
Known for her collaborative approach and strong communication skills, Ms. Dill has played a key role in connecting investigators, research staff, and organizational leadership to move studies from concept to completion. Her work has supported the broader mission of advancing clinical research and improving the evidence that informs patient care. The Alliance is grateful for all her hard work.
