Programs

An integrated structure

Organized into five core programs, the Alliance is structured to bring together related scientific, operational, and administrative functions. Within each program, scientific and administrative committees provide specialized expertise, develop and evaluate research concepts, and contribute to the design and conduct of clinical trials. Programs provide the broader framework, while committees focus on specific areas of science, discipline, and organizational need.

Providing coordination across the network is the Alliance Operations Center (OPS Center). Led by the Group Chair and Program Principal Investigator, the OPS Center aligns scientific leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction across the five programs and provides leadership and support for the Alliance’s disease, modality, and administrative committees.

The Statistics and Data Management Program provides expertise in statistical design, data management, analysis, and information systems, essential to rigorous clinical research. The Central Protocol Operations Program (CPOP) supports protocol development, regulatory coordination, network-wide implementation, and data-sharing activities.

The Translational Research Program (TRP) connects laboratory science with clinical research by integrating molecular science, biomarkers, pharmacogenomics, and biospecimen resources into clinical trials. The Cancer Control Program (CCP) advances patient-centered research in cancer prevention, survivorship, care delivery, symptom management, and addressing the needs of underrepresented populations.

The Procedure-Based Therapy Program (PBTP) advances clinical research involving surgery, radiation, interventional procedures, and other procedure-based approaches to treat cancer.

Together, this integrated structure ensures that scientific ideas are continuously developed, supported, and translated into clinical trials that are collaborative and focused on improving outcomes for patients with cancer.
