Bringing a new cancer treatment idea to the Alliance
The Alliance welcomes innovative research concepts with the potential to improve cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and care delivery. Investigators with promising ideas are encouraged to engage with us early—often by discussing the concept with the relevant committee chair—to explore its fit with Alliance research priorities, expertise, and available resources.
Active Alliance members can submit research concepts through the Alliance Member Website. The Protocol section provides detailed guidance, submission requirements, and information about the internal review process.
The Alliance Member Website requires login credentials. For access assistance, contact the Alliance Service Center at AllianceServiceCenter@AllianceNCTN.org.
Researchers who are not currently Alliance members are welcome to submit new study concepts. The process begins with connecting with the appropriate scientific committee and preparing the required materials.
Connect with the appropriate scientific committee
Before preparing a formal submission, investigators are encouraged to discuss their concept with the leadership of the relevant Alliance disease or scientific committee. Early consultation helps assess alignment with Alliance research priorities, identifies potential collaborators, and determines the appropriate submission pathway.
To connect with the appropriate Committee Chair, contact Concepts@AllianceNCTN.org.
Prepare your submission
The Alliance works closely with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to develop and conduct clinical trials. Investigators should complete the appropriate NCI concept submission form, and the required Alliance conflict of interest documentation.
Required materials include:
E-mail completed materials to Concepts@AllianceNCTN.org.
Submit and review your concept
Once submitted, the appropriate Alliance committee reviews the concepts for scientific merit, feasibility, alignment with Alliance priorities, and potential to improve cancer care. The committee may provide feedback and determine whether the concept is appropriate for further development within the Alliance.
